Paula McElvania

5th and 6th Grades/Principal

This is the fifth year at Thunderbird Christian Elementary for Paula McElvania (Mrs. Mac). She has fourteen years of teaching experience within the Arizona Adventist Education system and five years of public school experience.  Mrs. Mac obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education from Southwestern Adventist University and is currently working on her Masters degree at Arizona State University. 

 
Mrs. Mac is married and has two daughters, one attends Thunderbird Adventist Academy, the other is a sophomore at ASU.

Mrs. Mac is committed to providing a nurturing Christian environment. Her goal is to make 2010-2011 a great  school year.

Saray (Sara) Prieto

1st and 2nd Grades

Ms. Sara obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Development from Southwestern Adventist University.

Her goals are to teach her students to love God, to love learning and to help them begin their walk in our ever changing world.

Karen Ellstrom
3rd and 4th Grades

Mrs. Ellstrom is Arizona state certified, has a teaching certificate from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is married and has a daughter and a son attending La Sierra University. 

She has taught Kindergarten for 10 years. She will be making a transition to teach 3rd and 4th grades.

Learning is a two way street, and Mrs Ellstrom looks forward to the good things she will learn from the class and getting to know and work with students and parents. Her goal is to help each student grow adacemically, physically, socially and spiritually and to inspire her students to make learning an enjoyable life-long experience.

Kylee Cookenmaster

7th and 8th Grades

Ms. Kylee graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood.

Ms. Kylee has two sons, one whom attends TCE and the other son is eagerly awaiting to attend TCE.

Ms. Kylee is passionate about children and young people. Seeing them grow and thrive is a tremendous thrill. "I love to see the joy of mastering new concepts on children's faces and I want them to have fun while learning."
