 Paula McElvania

5th and 6th Grades/Principal

Mrs. McElvania (Mrs. Mac) is committed to providing a safe, Christian environment where children are laughing, learning, & being loved. The ultimate goal is to support children in their relationship with Jesus Christ. This will be her sixth year at TCE and she is excited about the potential of all the new and returning students. She has sixteen years of teaching experience within the Arizona Adventist Education system and five years of public school experience. Mrs. Mac obtained a BA degree in English/Secondary Education from Southwestern Adventist University and a MaEd in Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University. She is certified both denominationally and in the State of Arizona.

 
Mrs. Mac is married and has two daughters. The oldest recently graduated from Arizona State University and the youngest is attending Southern Adventist University.

Her motto is "Training Children for Eternity."

Gloria Guzman

Pre-K & Kindergarten

Gloria is an Arizona Native who has three children, a son, Andy, who is 22 years old and attends college, as well as two daughters.  The eldest, Aleena, is 16 and attends Thunderbird Adventist Academy, and Ana, 13, is a student at Thunderbird Christian Elementary.  Gloria obtained her Associate in Applied Science and her Early Childhood Education Certificate through Central Arizona College.  She is currently taking courses to complete the requirements to obtain her Arizona Teaching Certificate.

Saray (Sara) Prieto

1st and 2nd Grades

Ms. Sara obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Development from Southwestern Adventist University.

Her goals are to teach her students to love God, to love learning and to help them begin their walk in our ever changing world.

Karen Ellstrom

3rd and 4th Grades

Mrs. Ellstrom is Arizona State certified, has a teaching certificate from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is married and has two children attending college.  Both children attended T.C.E. and Thunderbird Adventist Academy.

Mrs. Ellstrom is currently in her 13th year of teaching at T.C.E.  Her teaching experience includes Pre-K/Kindergarten and Second through Fourth grades.

Mrs. Ellstrom's goal is to help students grow academically, spiritually, and socially. She wants to inspire her students to make learning an enjoyable, life-long experience.  She believes that every child can succeed.

Kylee Cookenmaster

7th and 8th Grades

Ms. Kylee graduated from Southwestern Adventist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood.

Ms. Kylee has two sons, one whom attends TCE and the other son is eagerly awaiting to attend TCE.

Ms. Kylee is passionate about children and young people. Seeing them grow and thrive is a tremendous thrill. "I love to see the joy of mastering new concepts on children's faces and I want them to have fun while learning."
